This restoration piece has intriguing bones and warrants more research, therefore it is not for sale at this time.
2018  The item is meticulously hand carved to accomodate the rushing back. The rushing back is intact however needs cleaning. The seat needs repair or full replacement. I can see a leather suede padding replace the rushed seating.  Age circa 1910 -1965. European.
2019  Positively identified. Designer Mel Smilow, a New York Polish Jewish American, 1940's, handcarved, hand assembled walnut with natural rushing. Smilow - Thiele manufacturer. 
The Smilow Family restarted production of this chair.  $3,540.00 new.
